Realms and how to fuse them
"But you just need to put three together and click the 'fuse' button, no?"
Can I have a TL;DR version? This page looks long.
Here you go. If you want a bigger and clearer picture of this, click here.

Damn... I don't understand what's going on in the picture.
Time to sit tight and digest what I'm about to write next.
When you fuse any realms of the same grade, you will get one of the 4 outcomes stated below:
However, if you fuse realms with different grades together (ie one G2 and 2 G1 moons), the highest grade in the mix won't change. Only 1 and 2 will occur from the list above.
So, there are only three ways to effective realm fusion. I'll be explaining them one by one.
When you fuse any realms of the same grade, you will get one of the 4 outcomes stated below:
- It remains the same
- It turns into a special realm (fish/drums/umbrella)
- Its grade increases by 1/2
- Both 2 and 3
However, if you fuse realms with different grades together (ie one G2 and 2 G1 moons), the highest grade in the mix won't change. Only 1 and 2 will occur from the list above.
So, there are only three ways to effective realm fusion. I'll be explaining them one by one.
#1 - I want my high grade realms
Imagine this: After playing the game for a bit, you've gathered a bunch of G1, G2, and G3 Moon realms from RR and DE. But they are low level realms. You look into a list of realms to entrust and found a friend that keeps putting out high grade special realms (G4+) like every single day. "Man, how did he get so many G4s? I can't even get one."
Here's how you do it. Remember, one of the outcomes of fusing realms of the same grade is increasing its own grades. So that's how you get more high grade realms: fusing those of the same grade together.

Other players may disagree, but for starters, it's best to keep all G1 Moon realms for realm washing (will be explained in #2).
Fuse all of your G2/G3 Moon realms together until you're left with a bunch of special realms of the same grade or higher grade ones. Keep the special realms for now. If you have an excess number of G4 realms, you can also fuse them together. But for now, they can stay. G4 realms and above are unique as you can set them as "Private". This will be useful when you want to do realm trading (also will be explained later). |
#2 - Got my high grade realms, now I want them to be special
Now that you got your small pile of G4 and G5 Moon realms, you now look forward for them to turn into the special realms like that guy in your friend list. The problem is, you don't know how. Fusing them together feels like a waste, since you only have so few high grade ones. You wonder, "Can I just turn all of these high grade Moon realms into a special one?"
Of course you can. Don't let your dreams be dreams.

Remember what I said about fusing realms of different grades together? The highest grade in the mix doesn't change.
Here's where your G1 Moon realms will shine. Using a high grade Moon realm and 2 G1 Moon realms, continue fusing until your high grade Moon realm turns into a special realm. This is what we call as "realm washing". You just need to "wash" (reroll) the realm until it becomes what you want it to be - a special realm. What if I ran out of G1 Moons? Can I use a G2 Moon? You can. How about using G1/G2 Special Realms? Preferably not, because we'll need it in #3. |
#3 - I got a high grade special realm, but I don't like what it's giving. I want jades/ap!
You followed #1 and #2 and got yourself some G4 and G5 special realms. Great! But here's the problem: Some of them aren't what you wanted it to be, like it became an Umbrella realm. Coins are nice and all, but you want more jades to summon. Or, you got a G4/G5/G6 realm from Oboroguruma/events, but you don't need some pesky scales or random shikigami shards.
"Is it possible to change them?" Yeap.
"Is it possible to change them?" Yeap.
This is why I discourage you from using G1/G2 special realms in #2. You can use them to fuse the unwanted special realms instead, like Umbrella or Oboroguruma realm card.
It's more worth to use them on other special realm cards because it will never turn back into a Moon. You're guaranteed to get a special realm. Though, it might revert back to an Umbrella. Then, you just need to fuse it again. Does this mean using special realms on Moons isn't guaranteed to be a special realm? Exactly. You only have a higher chance in converting the Moon into a special realm if you use two low grade special realms, but it's not 100%. But you can use it to speed up realm fusion if you have a lot of those. |
TL;DR of the 3 effective ways to realm fusion:
Only do
Moon + Moon + Moon
or
Special + Special + Special
Only do
Moon + Moon + Moon
or
Special + Special + Special
What's realm trading?
As I mentioned earlier, G4 realms and above can be put on private. What this means is, you can select which player that can see your realm and entrust. This enables trading between players as two players can each set up a high level realm and only the both of you can entrust in each other's realm.
In essence, entrusting into a high grade realm and having your own high grade realm means you're sitting on two realms, so the both of you will get double the benefit.
