How do you get lv 1 bond?
You'll reach Friendship 1 if you pester that guy enough.
What's Buddy bond?
If you actually have a mentor, one of the quest requirement is to hit 150 bond EXP with your mentor.
It's basically being "friends" enough with that player that you get additional benefits from them.
You can view your bond level with another player by looking at the Friends tab. The flowers beside their name indicates the current bond level you have with each other. If you want to see how close you are to the next bond level, go to "Friends" and click on the ">" button by their name, like so.

Clicking on the "Bond" icon will bring you to this screen.
At the bottom of this pop up, you'll see the EXP required to reach bond level 1/2/3. The flowers will bloom as you become friendlier with them. You can also see your current bond EXP with the person. For me, I'm at the max bond level with this player.
The benefits for each bond level is as follows:
Lv. 1 Bond - Login notification, can use their shikigami as co-op shiki, gets more friendship points, more bonus when co-oping.
Lv. 2 Bond - Can leech their shikigami collection and unlock Heian Tales
Lv. 3 Bond - Can donate SSR/SP shards through Guild > Friends tab.
Additional benefits not written here is you can only buy certain items off of your friend's scam merchants when you reach lv 1/2 bond with them (such as mystery amus and bd shards).
Well, that's good and all, but how do I raise the bond level with that player (like my mentor)?
Glad you asked! From the previous image, do you see the "Daily Bond" thing on the left side of the image? Clicking on it will show you exactly what contributes to bond EXP. It'll look like this:
Scroll through this list to see what else contributes to bond EXP. Remember that it caps out by 100 bond EXP every day, so don't overdo those soul runs!
